Use

To clean out nuts from the cracks

Context

Nuts were often difficult to remove after weighting or falling on them. Dolt had many pitons that weren't selling after the shift to clean climbing gear. He was able to modify his pitons to become a tool used to clean the nuts out of cracks. The nut cleaning tool was an essential part of the 1970’s climbers gear rack. Also could be used as a regular piton in emergency situations.
