Description

Petzl Quickdraw with a two Camp Carabiners

Use

to connect a climber's rope to protection points (bolts or gear), reducing rope drag and enabling safe progression

Context

This is in the museums interactive display. It includes a Petzl Quickdraw, which was manufactured to reduce rope drag. The two carabiners were manufactured by CAMP, however one of them is a "bent-gate" model. The bent-gate was created to make it easier to clip rope into, however it also made it easier to unclip the rope, making it dangerous.
