An early version of a Yates manufactured quickdrawUse
Made to release and extend longer if a fall was taken on it, making it a one-time use quickdrawContext
These pieces are in the museum's interactive display. The Yates quickdraw was made to reduce the amount of force placed on a piece of equipment. If you were to fall on this, the quickdraw would burst open and extend, allowing for the pressure to be taken off as a "shock-absorber." It was only a one-time use piece of equipment, as there was no way to reset the quickdraw. The two screw gate locking carabiners are important to use with the quickdraw, since it would vibrate when released and normal carabiners would open.Collection
