[Franklin Imprint]. Arscott, Alexander.

Name/Title

[Franklin Imprint]. Arscott, Alexander.

Description

[Franklin Imprint]. Arscott, Alexander. Some Considerations Relating to the Present State of the Christian Religion…Parts I and II. Philadelphia: Reprinted by B. Franklin, Printing-Office, 1732. Two parts bound in one. 111, [1]: 140, 131pp. This imprint was bound by Stephen Potts and is the earliest Franklin imprint we have seen where it is possible to identify all of the craftsmen involved in its production. The work is in two parts, and is complete. Although Miller assigns a single entry for both parts of Arscot's work, Evans gives each part a separate entry, and the American Antiquarian Society has only part one, pointing to the possibility that not all copies were bound up together. A charming and quite early Franklin imprint. Rare: WorldCat lists only one institutional copy and RareBookHub lists the last copy at auction in 2008. Before that there are a total of only 11 copies going back to 1904.
