This very sturdy wood-frame set dates to the boom years of backgammon in 1930-31. Distinctive features are the wide rails, the textured exterior, and the spring-loaded clasps. The flanges of these clasps stick up over the edge of the frame when the board is open, making them easy to spot even at a distance in photos of the period. This is an unusually large board, well sized for 2" checkers, yet checkers of that size dating to the 1930's have never been found.Made/Created
