BG-2024.0037Description
The play of feminine hands bearing markers of affluence across a strikingly modern backgammon table unite product and game in a holiday spirit of sensuous luxury. This could as well have served as an ad for Cutex, which also ran a backgammon-themed ad that year.
This ad is also useful for dating the vivid diamond-tip variation on the point style, the checkers carved in the attractive carved "bullseye" style. and the doubling cube in sans-serif font, conforming to the 1930 numeral style. Also of note is the cream color of the bakelite checkers, which deepen to a yellow color with time.Publication Details
