A small American flag attached to a black wooden handle. Accompanying the flag is a green cardboard holder for the flag, with gold detailing at each end and a black and tan seal in the center.
The flag only has 48 stars, which means it pre-dates Hawaii and Alaska joining in 1959. Since the flag was presented to Gold Star mothers, it is most likely that it is associated with World War I or World War II, but there is no definitive way to know when this flag is from.
