Description

Module 5 Legacies from the 2002 Bishop Museum exhibit. The five modules of the exhibit are Introduction, Jarvis Island, Baker Island, Howland Island, and Legacies. The exhibit was titled: “Hui Panalāʻau: Hawaiian Colonists, American Citizens.” It opened on May 25, 2002, and had 46 panels. Collectively, the panels contain over 140 photographs. The exhibit also featured reproductions of bound daily log books, an oral history video documentary, a computer interactive program, artifacts that filled 7 exhibit cases, and a booklet guide with seven essays. After three weeks of opening at Bishop Museum, the exhibit was featured at Kamehameha Schools Kapālama Campus, Keauhou Shopping Center in Kona on Hawaiʻi Island, and Capitol Hill in Washington D.C.
