Gold rectangular latch with triangular hinged flap, both with curvy edges. The rectangular part has a small projecting edge on it. The triangular piece has 3 points on the back side to stick into book. One latch is engraved, "Henry Clay / January 1st, 1848." The other is engraved, "Mrs. Henry Clay / January 1st, 1848."Dimensions
