Scroll is contained in a cylindrical ebony case designed to look like a column. Ivory endcaps widen toward end. Top cap is carved with acorns and leaves around cirumference. On the body of the case, just inside the caps are ornate, pierced silver sleeves decorated with acorns, leaves, etc. Both ivory caps may be unscrewed and removed from the ebony case. The top cap removes to expose ivory screw threads, the bottom threads are carved into the ebony case. On interior of the top cap, printed in red, "J[ohn]. Most / NY." Within the case is contained a rolled vellum document, a long scroll, attached to an ebony dowell with ivory caps on each end. The scroll is titled, "Resolutions passed by the Clay Festival Association of the City of New York, July 2, 1852," and includes those members' signatures, as well.Dimensions
