Curved animal powder horn. The widest end is stopped with a wooden stopper with a hook and ring secured to it. The pointed end is open and has a double band 1.5 " from the top. The horn has a painted or dyed brown design and lettering on a lighter background. The design is animal and floral; the lettering is only partly legible, "Co Taylor Hero of / Palo Alto/ ... Resaca D. Lapalma [de la palma] / Buena Vista / Co. Meekey / Co. Clay / Co. Hardin / P--?-- Green. [?]"
