This painting is of a dark brown horse standing in a pasture. There is a larger tree to the right of the horse and smaller trees on the horizon line. The pasture has spotty grass, and the horse appears to be standing on dirt. The horse is facing left. The horse is dark brown with a black mane, tail and lower legs. Its muzzle is lighter in color. It is standing with the left front leg and right rear leg forward and the right front and left rear leg back. The sky is blue and has a great deal of white and grey cloud cover. The painting is framed in a natural reddish wood frame with gilt inner lip. It has a brass hanging ring at the top center.
