One ten dollar bank note bearing the image of Henry Clay and drawn on the Planters Bank of North Carolina. At the top in the corners is the number 10 on a black background surrounded by a red border bearing the word 'ten' and letter 'X' in repetition all the way around. At the top in the left center is a picture of a planter on a horse and three slaves in the fields. In the lower left corner is a picture of a group of miners in a mine. In the lower right corner is a picture of Henry Clay. The bill reads: "State of North Carolina The Miners and Planters Bank will pay on demand to the bearer Ten Dollars." Following this is the word 'ten' in large fancy letters. Below is a line for number and date with the number '189' and the date 'June 7, 1860' written in by hand. Along the very bottom were two signatures that have since faded almost completely away. The top and bottom of the bill have a black border with the word 'ten' in it. On the left end of the bottom border is a black reading "American Bank Note Company" and in the center of the bottom border is a block reading "Stockholders Individually Liable."
