Description

A commemorative medal made to honor Henry Clay. Side one has a band around the edge with a bust of Henry Clay in the center. Beneath the bust is a ribbon with the words: "Born April 12, 1877, Died June 29, 1852." Side two has a rock with the word " Constitution" on it and a scroll with the words "American System South American Nations Compromises" on it. On top of the paper is a hand and arm. Above the rock is the inscription: "The Eloquent Defender of National Rights and National Independence."
