Description

Red leather bound bible with gilt decoration and titles on the cover and spine. On the spine is the title: "The Cottage Bible." On the cover are the names Henry Clay and Lucretia Clay. Signed in pencil on one of the front flyleafs: "Henry Clay and Lucretia Clay to Susan M.J. Clay 1844." Publisher's information: The Cottage Bible edited by Rev. William Patton, embellished with engravings and maps, Volume 2, (Hartford: Case, Tiffany & Burnham, 1842). Between pages 890 and 891 are leaves in a plastic sleeve. There are advertisements for books between pages 858 and 859.
