An anti-Clay political cartoon from the 1844 presidential campaign. The cartoon shows Henry Clay holding his running mate Theodore Frelinghuysen by the collar while a group of people hurl stilck, stones, etc. labeled "drunk," "duelling," "gambling," "swearing," etc. The devil is also perched on Henry Clay's back holding a playing card, a gun is in Clay's pocket, and a knife in his vest.
