This engraving is entitled "The Grand National Whig Banner" and features pictures of Henry Clay and running mate Theodore Frelinghuysen. There is a drapery hung at the top beneath which is an arch of 14 stars. Under the arch is the legend: "Justice to Harry of the West." An eagle holds two American flags crossed over the two oval portraits. Each portrait is bordered with laurels and has a name plate at the bottom. The position each man is nominated for is noted above their heads. Beneath the portraits are two anthemions with ribbons beside containing the words: "The Nation's Choice for President and Vice President." At the bottom are five stars and draperies, beneath which is the legend: "Entered according to Act of Congress in the year 1844 in the clerk's office of the dist. court of the so. dis, of New York." Below the image is the title: "Grand National Whig Banner. "Onward." Below the title is the credit: "Lith & Pub. by N. Currier, 2 Spruce Street N.Y." Engraving is hand-colored.
