Drawing of African American man. Hair is parted on his right and comes to a peak over his left eye. He has a full face. He is wearing a shirt, tie, and coat. Beneath the drawing is an inscription in pencil reading "Charles Dupee aged 34 or 35". About 2 inches below the drawing is an inscription in ink reading "Charles Dupee (of Mendenhall Memory) a slave belonging to the Hon. Henry Clay --- drawn by Jno. Neagle from the life -- Lexington, Kentucky, Nov. 20th 1842." Beneath that in ink is another line, "(Emancipated by Mr. Clay Dec. 9th 1844)".Dimensions
