Muddled landscape with two figures at bottom center to the left and cows at bottom to the right; grey sky and dark green land; bushy tree to the middle left. Signed at lower right in black or gray (barely perceptible), "Robt. B. Wilson [illegible]." Painted on reverse of canvas, "Painted with / Pallete-knife / by / Robert Burns Wilson. 1881" Painted at top left on back of frame, "M.H. McDowell" [Magdalen Harvey McDowell?]. Framed in original[?] shadowbox-style frame, finished wood on outside with gilded deocrative work on inside.
