Two small black leather-bound books joined together by a sleeve. "The Hymnal" and "The Book of Common Prayer" each have a purple bookmark bound into the spine and sterling corners on the covers' edge. Gilt pages and gold embossed inner edge in each. Published in 1893. Prayer book signed "Anne Clay McDowell/Ashland." Hymnal signed, "Anne C. McDowell/from/her husband/Dec. 25, 1893."
