Clark taken in 1882 from other portraits and likenesses assisted by my memory and criticism." Other writings on the back of the card: "This photo must be returned because of the writing on it," and, "To the best of my knowledge this picture has never been published. L.C.S. (Lucretia Clay Simpson)."
