Letter written to Henry Clay to fellow Whig David Austin Muir about 1848 presidential campaign. Clay expresses his feelings of displeasure about Gen. Zachary Taylor receiving the presidential nomination in 1848 and that he is a mistake as a candidate. Clay goes on to express his desire to vote in anonymity and neither to help or harm the outcome of the election for the Whigs.
