Description

German 19th century street scene, vibrant colors. Oil on wood panel, artist unknown. Titled "Mulheim [?] der Rohr," written on back of panel. A logo has been branded on the back of the panel also--a shield inside a double ring. A word is inside the shield but only "--ABIN--" is visible. Painting is inside original wide, gilded frame. Written on back of frame at bottom is "over vicotor" (its original location in the house during one of the McDowell periods?). At the top back of the frame, also written in pencil (upside down) is another word, barely visible and beginning with an "M."
