Description

Possibly oak, trimmed with silver with saw tooth edge on handle, shield design inscribed "Cut from Battleground of Tippecanoe by Jos. P. Wolf, a soldier of 1812." Henry Clay's name spelled out in silver disks on stick. A keystone symbol is on opposite side of handle showing chapter member of Knight's Templar (a masonic order). Whether this symbol is for Henry Clay or Joseph Wolf is unknown. A person can be a mason, as Clay was, without being a Knight's Templar.
