Robert Laxalt is the author of seventeen books, all conveyed to paper, letter by letter, on the Royal manual typewriter purchased by his mother more than a century ago. From his first school reports to his most recent books, Robert Laxalt has recorded a lifetime of stories on this humble machine. Stories range from his youth as the son of an immigrant Basque family, his early days as a reporter, his days as director of University of Nevada Reno. Donated by Diane DeChambeau 12/16/09 along with card containing leaves from the Tree of Gernika.
