Description

Blosser family china cabinet. Early American, functional, two sections, the upper has a slightly overhanging cornice, twelve glass panes, key locks instead of knobs on doors, carved leaf and fruit handles on drawers. Made in 1869. Samuel Coffman had the cupboard made and gave it to his son, John S. Coffman (1849-1870) as a wedding gift in November of 1869. The donor's great grandfather Coffman bought it at the auction when John S. Coffman decided to go to Elkhart. The Coffman family gave it to the Heatwole family, who gave it to Hazel Knicely, who later sold it to Ina Heatwole, who sold it to the donor. Restored by Miller's Cabinets in 1966.
