The Benge route passed through this region, and the Lutes house was a witness structure on the Lutes property. A list of the properties, featuring "Sopia-Jacob Lutes 1825, Lutesville", "Marble Hill pre 1850" and "Greene 5/5/1834, west side of Crooked Creek".
