William Charles Staines
William Charles Staines, age 78, died at his residence in St. Johns March 7, 1991. Born November 26, 1912 in Greenville, Michigan the son of John F. and Vina (Holley) Staines, he spent most of his life in St. Johns and retired from Federal Mogul Corporation in 1975.
He was a member of the Free Methodist Church in St. Johns, and a member of V. F.W. Post #4113, St. Johns. He married Rose Mary Kimball in Eagle, Michigan on November 19, 1941 and she survives him. Also surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Charles Peters of St. Johns, a son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Kathy Staines of Portland; and 5 grand-children.
Funeral services were held at the Osgood Funeral Home, St. Johns, at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, March 9, 1991 with interment at Wacousta Cemetery, Rev. James Dennings officiating.
Casket Bearers were Harold Slagell, Bryan Kimball, Robert Kimball, Robert Ehrlich, Randy Kimball and Richard Kimball. Honorary Bearers were Charlie Peters, Josh Courser and Gerald Latimer.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Clinton County.
