TWO MEN DIE ON CHRISTMAS
William Long, 79, Ovid, and
James Adelbert Mosher, 72, Of Bengal, Succumb
With the arrival of Christmas came the death of two Clinton county men, both past the three score and ten mark, James A. Mosher, 72, of Bengal township, and William Long, 79 of Ovid. The latter succumbed to a sudden heart attack.

William Long was born June 11, 1858, at Northville, Michigan, and where his early boyhood was spent. He moved to South Ovid when he was 16 years old. On Jan. 28, 1876, he was united in marriage to Miss Julia Dilts, daughter of Daniel and Mary Dilts. Two sons were born to this union, Lewis Long, who passed away June 21, 1908, and George, of Lansing.
Mr. Long was an employee of the Grand Trunk railroad for 43 years but had been on the retired list for several years. He was a member of the Ovid I. O. O. F. lodge for 49 years, being one of the charter members.
He is survived, by the widow, one son, five grandchildren, two great grandchildren, a niece, Mrs. Jay Martin of Ovid, and a great many friends and neighbors.
Funeral services were held from the Houghton funeral home Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. W. S. Phillips officiated. Interment was on the family lot in Maple Grove cemetery. The I. O. O. F. lodge was in charge of the burial services.
