The book Comic Epitaphs Is about old gravestone inscriptions is hardly serious historical one. Most of the items are genuine, however many are suspect. A few are Frankly contrived. In a couple cases true inscriptions might have been changed. Even places and names are not reliable. Though it is still a great book if you want a nice laugh.
