Description

Memorial Day event on Sound Beach Avenue in 1943 or 1944 (during WWII). Spectators stand and sit to the right side and the marching band sits to the left side in the foreground. The man standing at the microphone is the Rev. Dr. Vincent Daniels, pastor of First Congregational Church in Old Greenwich, CT. Building at left is approximate location of 225 Sound Beach Avenue. The old Sound Beach Fire Department building is at right. The new building now extends into the area where the honor roll was set up.
