The Grimsby High school built 1910; in the background, left ,is the Grimsby Cooling Plant.
The Central Public School [not shown here] was a six room school built on the north side of Livingston Avenue in 1906 to accomodate student growth in Grimsby. This new facility mostly served older students and soon began to struggle with its growing student population.
In response, the three storey high school pictured here was built in 1910 immediately west of the Central Public School.
The Grimsby Secondary School was built on Bolton Ave in 1925; it funnelled older students away from Central Public School. With dwindling numbers, this Central High School was incorporated into the Central Public School.Collection
