The collection consists of 8 binders from 1976 to 2022. They include executive meeting minutes, budgets, newsletters, correspondence, member lists, detailed spring and fall programs for each year, photo albums of newspaper clippings and photos throughout the club’s 46 year life span. Note: missing are meeting minutes and programs from 1976-2000. As well there is a gap from March 2020- April 4, 2022 when the club did not meet due to Covid. The club had their Farewell event May 5, 2022.
The club was created in 1976 after a 10 week series of programs for women was sponsored by the federal government in 1975, The International Year of the Woman. A group of approximately 20 women found the series worthwhile and decided to keep meeting. They met weekly and created for each year a monthly speaker series on various topics. They printed leaflets and advertised their Spring and Fall programs. Since 1976 they met consistently each week until the Covid-19 virus shuttered all meetings, events and cities across the globe. They held their last meeting on April 4th,2022.
