Grimsby High School opened in 1925 and closed in 2023. The school was built by Yates Construction Company of Toronto for $84,000 - which was the lowest bid. It took six months to build and when it opened on November 2, 1925 - it welcomed 200 students from Grimsby and Saltfleet. The original building included an auditorium with 450 seats, a basement gymnasium, a well- equipped laboratory, two commercial rooms, an art room and five classrooms. The school offered Tea Dances on Friday afternoons from 4:00-6:00 to teach students acceptable social behaviour and etiquette.Collection
