Description

A California style bungalow, 69 Main St East, designed by Canadian American Architect Harold Champ Beckett for Detroit industrialist William Luke Davies and his wife Susan Nelles Davies, and built in 1921 by the Shafer brothers. The home name on the postcard is Clysdale or Clyfdale. This photo is undated but thought to be from the late 1930s or later as the Davies family had tennis courts on a lot on the east side of the home. The house next door showing beside the chimney was built during Robert Crawfords ownership of this house after 1936.
