Description

The Parish was founded in 1794 when Andrew Petitt lead the worship for the pioneers of the Forty in their homes. In 1800, Robert Nelles provided the land to build a church. In 1812, appeals to the Bishop of resident Clergy. Stone Church was completed in November 1825. St. Andrew's Church is the fourth oldest church in Ontario. Details noted on the back of the postcard: St. Andrew's Anglican Church, erected 1794, being the second oldest Parish in Niagara Peninsula. This Parish was 50 years in Diocese of Quebec, then 25 years in Diocese of Toronto until Diocese of Niagara Formed in 1875. Grimsby, Ontario,
