Name/Title

Theal Bros At 1910 Labour Day Celebration

Description

James and Richards Theal came to Grimsby in 1910. They had many joint business ventures, the first being a feed mill. The feed mill operation is what is being advertised on this postcard. Their second venture was a bakery business which they operated for a few years. In 1916 they opened a grocery store at 19 Main St W. This store was closed when it sold by Richards’s son, Lloyd Theal in 1969. (Source: The Independent, Feb 19, 1969 pg 15)
