Inns of Innsville, Niagara Highway

Name/Title

Inns of Innsville, Niagara Highway

Description

B&W postcard showing the Inns of Innville in Winona. The Innsville resturant sign fronts the property - "CHICKEN FISH STEAK DINNERS". Postmarked at Winona 1935 Aug 22 Welcome to one of the last true inns in the Golden Horseshoe. The Innsville was established at a time when motoring holidays were in vogue and the Queen's Highway #8 wound its way in lazy folds from Hamilton, through the small burrows along the Niagara Peninsula, to the world famous Niagara Falls. At the end of a weary drive, tourists would begin to look for the welcoming roadside inn, nestled alongside the highway, inviting and warm, where good food and comfort was assured and there was always a place to rest a weary head for the night.
