Downtown Grimsby, and beyond, looking north towards the lake in the early 1900's In the foreground, left - the back of the Village Inn. Elizabeth St is visible on the lower far left. The buildings along Main street with the red roof Malakoff building of 1855 standing up above the rest. [This is prior to the 1938 raizing of the upper floor from the building] The houses of Elizabeth, Adelaide and Depot street are next towards the lake. The train station is in the centre of the photo. To the north of it are Daniel Marsh's lumber mill yard and homes running along Clarke Street. The homes north of Clarke along Ontario continue northward towards the lake. in the distance on the upper right are the homes on Maple Ave. It is thought the structure in the centre left is Lake lodge school.Collection
