The Viking Restaurant was built by John Frostad. Frostad was a Norwegian immigrant who settled in Grimsby in the early 1950s, after his son purchased a farm on the north side of the QEW. The Restaurant was located on 54 N Service Rd, where the current (as of 2023) Lakemount Worship Centre stands. The Viking Restaurant was cut off from traffic when a north service road was added to the QEW. It soon struggled to operate and eventually closed.Collection
