Radial Village sleeping carsDescription
The Radial Village was constructed by Robert Crawford after the Hamilton, Beamsville and Grimsby railways were dismantled in 1931. He bought seven of the discarded HG&B radial cars, imported two American-made diners from Toronto, and established Radial Village. This unique undertaking was on land owned by Crawford on Main Street East just west of Durham Road where he owned the adjacent brickyard. The Radial Village closed in 1965.Collection
