The Grimsby Fruit Growers plant was located on Livingston Avenue and packed local fruits, both frozen and fresh. It was the second oldest plant in Grimsby and was originally owned by Mr. Bell. It was sold to Canadian Canners Limited in 1923. In 1949, the plant featured in a tv show that talked about the Niagara Pear Industries. A new warehouse was built in 1955.
The factory processed peaches, pears, plums, tomatoes, beets and jam. Norman Todd was the manager from 1949-1957.

In June 1960, the plant on Livingston Avenue was demolished to make way for Grimsby's first shopping plaza - Grimsby Square Shopping Centre at 44 Livingston Ave.
