COMING.172.1Scope and Content
In ca. 1979, the congregation of Morris Street Baptist Church purchased a rundown, crime-infested, 6-building apartment complex at this address, known as Do As You Choose Alley, which had a reputation for being frequented by drug dealers and bootleggers. in 1982, the newly renovated J.C. Dunbar Apartments became a reality in the form of a 4-building apartment complex to be managed by the Church. The complex was named in honor of one of the Church's pastors who served the church for 36 years before his death.
