Name/Title
11 Gibbes Street (Henry Middleton House)Entry/Object ID
GIBBES.011.1Scope and Content
Constructed ca. 1850s on the property known as Harth's Lumber Yard. Excellent example of an architecturally uncluttered, mid-19th century, Greek Revival, Charleston single house. Originally, both a 3-bay entry facade and a longer piazza facade would have faced the Ashley River. Besides the addition of an entry door extension, the building is relatively unchanged.
File contains FOHG house history (1993); handwritten historical/chain-of-title research notes.
