Scope and Content

Between 1834 and 1861 the buildings at 4-16 South Adger's Wharf and the former warehouse and factor space at 6-16 North Adger's Wharf served as cotton sample storage and offices as late as 1951 (Poston, Buildings of Charleston). File contains: FOHG house history (1993); newspaper article "Extensive Brick Warehouse Being Remodeled to Provide Homes on South Adger's Wharf (3/31/1948); history of Adger's Wharf from Information for Guides of Historic Charleston (1984) and from City of Charleston Tour Guide Training Manual (2011).
