11 Colonial Street (Calhoun Securities House)Entry/Object ID
COLONIAL.011.1Scope and Content
Constructed ca. 1913. Nearly all the dwellings at 1-20 Colonial Street were completed within a few years; Calhoun Securities Company constructed most of the buildings as an investment, but a few individual owners built their own houses. Colonial Street constitutes one of the most diverse collections of early-20th century houses in the city; they show the wide mix of architectural styles used throughout the nation in this period. Most of the residences represent the Colonial Revival and Craftsman styles with wide, hipped dormers, full-width porches on front porticos, and closed gable roofs.
No additional history on this particular house. Needs further research.
