Scope and Content

Constructed ca. 1841. One unit of six surviving brick tenements built by Edward Winslow. Agatha Bouson Hoyt left 11 Wentworth Street in trust as a memorial to her mother, Lucinda Bouson. It was given to Historic Charleston Foundation by her heirs and sold as a private residence with protective covenants. Two files contain legal documentation of the covenant on the property; correspondence and other documentation related to the sale and management of the property; documentation related to HCF's acquisition of the property; annual inspection reports; requests for alterations; historical/chain-of-title research (Louis Green, 1977); copy of HCF easement information card (TMS number, year of construction, significant resident(s), deed research, deed restrictions, measurements, and tax information).
