c.1920 Industrial 96-10 Singer Sewing Machine
This machine is a vintage Singer industrial sewing machine mounted on a dedicated wooden table with an integrated ruler. The machine setup includes a heavy-duty electric motor and is designed for high-speed, heavy-duty production workhorses designed for commercial garment factories, tailoring shops, and s
prolonged continuous operations. Unlike home domestic machines, true industrial models are built into a dedicated power table and typically feature single-stitch specialization (such as straight-stitch lockstitching or overlocking) and lacked reverse stitching.
This specific machine was in the basement of the donor’s childhood home. His father, Elpidio Trepiccione, was an employee of Kessler Clothing and used this machine to sew lapels for Kessler’s distinguished Hammonton Park suits. The owner of the machine immigrated to the U.S., circa 1962, with his wife, Amelia. Photo below is a picture of the couple on the ship as they traveled to the U.S.Acquisition
