Description

Thanks to Christina DiDonato and the DiDonato family for the donation of this bowling pin to the Historical Society of Hammonton. The pin celebrates the 70 years of the DiDonato Fun Center which was established in 1952. The 1950's - 1960's marked a period in American sports where bowling was 'kingpin'. Many famous bowlers, such as Dick Weber, bowled in tournaments throughout NJ, and the DiDonato Fun Center has played its part in the history of bowling in our state. The bowling alley endured a severe set-back in 1966 when a devastating fire completely engulfed and destroyed the establishment. The DiDonato Family Fun Center was rebuilt and remains today as a favorite entertainment center for Hammonton families. 15” tall x 5”. Scratched and scuffed associated with wear.
