Description

Parochet- Decorative cloth cover over the enclosure that houses the Torah. This Parochet was used to cover the Torah at the Temple Beth El prior to its closure in 2022. The Parochet is enclosed in a large framed ‘window box’. The cloth is primarily a dark red velvet with light and dark gold appliqués of a crown, two lions, and a Hebrew scroll. Gold embroidery can also be seen on top and bottom of the Parochet with gold fringe on the bottom.
